On May 11th, SITI and Shanghai Pudong Public Transportation Company signed Agreement on the Project of “Smart Public Transportation Operation Coordination Management Platform for the City based on Beidou and its Industrialization”. Mr. Niu Xiaoming, president of SAST and SITI, Mr. Shi Qian, vice presient of SAST and SITI, Mr. Wang Guojun, Executive Board Member and GM of Pudong Public Transportation Company, and relevant department directors attended the signing ceremony.

On the meeting, Mr. Niu Xiaoming said that the signing of the agreement signaled the start of the project of “Smart Public Transportation Operation Coordination Management Platform for the City based on Beidou and its Industrialization” including bus carried terminals, electronic screens as well as coordination platform, which would provide 200 electronic screens for bus information, 200 smart bus carried terminals with passenger flow statistic functions as well as 3800 points of informatization for public transportation waiting facility. Mr. Niu Xiaoming requested that the carryout of the project should combine technology application closely with the needs of public transportation and make contribution towards public transportation development via applying technology methods including big data so that the project could help to realize the operation and service ideology of “sending passengers to the stations via subway and to home via buses” so that the citizens would find it more convenient and comfortable to do outings and the “last kilometer” problem could solved more quickly and better.
